The rectangular case surmounted by an interior scene in which the figure of a pensive Napoleon in military uniform moves left to right apparently scanning the world before him, a globe and a tripod table set with quill and paper behind, the 3.75 inch silvered Roman dial with engine turned 'basket weave' effect centre, set in the tall rectangular case and flanked by cast corner pieces and an applied lotus leaf border, on cast scroll feet, the signed clock movement with silk suspension and outside countwheel strike on a bell, the automata figure wound independently from the rear. 47cms (18.5ins) high.
