Carved Gem Aquamarine, Diamond, Platinum and Gold Sculpture—" Lost Love"
By Henry Dunay
Award winning American goldsmith and jewelry designer, Henry Dunay, has designed few lapidary objet d'art during his career. The present offering, completed in 2006, is certainly one of the stars of his oeuvres. The sculpture comprises a very large, spectacular gem-quality rich blue aquamarine crystal, weighing approximately 905 carats, in a pavé-diamond set base, comprising approximately 23.30 carats, accented with platinum and other gemstones, set atop a rough white beryl specimen, weighing approximately 1174 carats. The composition features a female figure fabricated entirely of 18K gold, embracing the aquamarine. The square polished and frosted rock crystal quartz base having an applied 18K yellow gold plaque inscribed "Love Lost", #D8727 Dunay 18K.

  • Accompanied by a letter from Henry Dunay stating "Lost Love" is an original "Object of Art" designed and crafted by Henry Dunay. It was handcrafted at my premises in New York City, between the years of 2005 and 2006.

My inspiration for "Lost Love" was a beautiful woman's face carved into an "Aquamarine Gio" (sic)that represents a male organ and the passion that she had it was lost: "Lost Love".

Everything is 18-1/2 ct. gold which gives very special color to my work. The rumbling stream at her feet is made out (sic) of Platinum.

18 1/2 KT gold and Platinum
