  • Paul Dreher
Gerd Dreher's grandfather, Herman Dreher (1876-1960) began the family tradition of excellence and much of his work was produced for and sold as, "Fabergé". Equally talented was Paul Dreher (1910-1968), Gerd's father, who continued the family's high standards. Occasionally collaborating with Georg Wild, they together produced the finest carvings available during that period. From time to time some of Paul's work has been mistakenly attributed to the house of Fabergé. He managed to gain such expertise and quality in his animal sculptures crafted after his own ideas and designs, that two of them were included in a famous book on Fabergé published in 1962 in London, in which they were presented as Fabergé's own designs.
