REMIZOV, ALEKSEI MIKHAILOVICH. 1877-1957.
Zavetnye skazky [Sacred Tales]. Petrograd: Alkonost, 1920.
12mo. 101 pp. Original gray wrappers. Wrappers a bit chipped, endpapers browned with two newspaper caricatures of the author tipped in and discolored.
No. 329 of 333 numbered copies. Among these four "cherished tales" is "Tsar Dodon," and "CHTO EST' TABAK" pp 11-36. Remizov's works became increasingly eccentric and between 1931 and 1952 he was unable to get any of them published. He wanted to collect all his tales to serve as a Russian Decameron.
