An early Victorian percussion Sea Service pistol
dated 1840
The 5 7/8 inch .58 caliber barrel with swivel ramrod; breech with two sets of Ordnance marks. Lock with stepped tail and two line borders and marked with crown and VR cipher over Tower 1840. Brass furniture. Iron belthook with crown over 17 Ordnance mark. Walnut stock with faint BO and broad arrow on right wrist and deeply stamped with large 10 behind barrel tang.
Condition: Very good. Barrel and lock with sharp markings and showing scattered light pitting and scratches. Stock showing light marks and some chipping at pins.
