Provenance: Serendipity Books; the Richard Manney Collection.

It took years of conferences with producer Darryl Zanuck and director Elia Kazan to produce the final version of Steinbeck's script for what would become Viva, Zapata! This draft bears the transitional title The Tiger and an earlier date than the copy in the lot above.
