Lovecraft's The Outsiders and Others (1939) and Beyond the Wall of Sleep (1943), but also the pre-Arkham work The Shunned House (1928); Ray Bradbury's Dark Carnival (1947); August Derleth's Someone in the Dark (1941); Clark Ashton Smith's Out of Space and Time (1942); Leah Bodine Drake's A Hornbook for Witches (1950); Robert E. Howard's Skull-Face and Others (1946). Generally in excellent condition and many volumes with duplicate jackets and a number of volumes signed and inscribed by Derleth. Arkham House was founded in Sauk City, Wisconsin by August Derleth and Donald Wandrei in order to publish the work of the late H.P. Lovecraft. They published their first book in 1939 and went on to publish many other authors in the horror and weird fiction genres including Ray Bradbury, Robert E. Howard, A.E. Van Vogt, Robert Bloch, Vincent Starrett, and many others, including Derleth and Wandrei themselves.
