LINCOLN, ABRAHAM. 1809-1865.
Autograph Manuscript Signed ("Lincoln & Herndon"), 1 p, 8vo, n.p., n.d., being a legal brief submitted on behalf of a client, some fading to ink, cuts at right and margins and lower left corner, now professionally restored.
Lincoln pens a brief on behalf of a defendent in a financial dispute: "The plaintiffs are notified that on the trial the defendent will prove that the note ... when made, was, by mistake, made too large by one hundred and twenty dollars. Also that plantiffs have received of defendents certain drafts and the proceeds thereof, to a large amount, to wit, the amount of twelve hundred and fifty dollars, in such way as to be payment or set off in this case."
