Album of 32 albumen print photographs, approximately 4 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches, by Lloyd Moultrie of San Jose, California, 1884-86, mounted to cardstock with numerals and photographer's name in gilt in margins, most captioned in ink on verso, excellent condition overall with one photo foxed and some minor silvering to a few, several cards detached from stubs, album rubbed.
An attractive collection of 19th century photographs by Lloyd Moultrie, a photographer operating out of San Jose, California. Ten of the photographs have Western subjects, including Yosemite and Nevada Falls, wigwams in Yosemite Valley, and the Mormon tabernacle and temple in Salt Lake City. The rest of the photographs are of sites in and around Washington D.C., including the Washington Monument, the Capitol and various other Federal buildings, as well as Harper's Ferry, Virginia, and the Robert E. Lee home in Arlington. The album leaves are numbered 2-30, with three additional leaves unnumbered.
