Folio (537 x 419 mm). 112 hand-colored lithographed plates by George Graves after drawings by Thomas Allport, Rebecca Miller, Mrs. Edward Roscoe, Mrs. James Dixon, Ellen Yates, Emily Fletcher and Mary Waln. Period half green russia over marbled boards, spine gilt, t.e.g. Some faint foxing, light dampstain affecting gutter margin at lower edge, a few plates toned and with offset, but generally clean, front free endpaper absent, front flyleaf torn, hinges repaired, covers rubbed and with general wear.

FIRST EDITION, ONE OF ONLY 150 COPIES PRODUCED. Depicts plants in the Liverpool Botanic Garden, which was created by a group led by Roscoe. A fairly early and impressive example of English lithography for botanical illustration. Nissen 1677; Sitwell p 133.
