Folio (355 x 215 mm).¶6 A-Qq6, A-Pp4 Qq6, ¶2, A-Mm4. [10], 469, [1]; 324; [4], 267, [14] pp.(paginated on rectos only, ¶1-2 misbound after ¶4.). General title, separate title for New Testament. With 2 full page woodcuts (in Exodus), and 5 in-text woodcuts, 4 of which are maps. General title with woodcut vignette of the parting of the Red Sea, woodcut chapter initials, head- and tail-pieces, some historiated. Period blind-stamped calf over wooden boards, nineteenth century bosses and clasps, contemporary annotations to first and last two leaves . Title reinforced, paper repairs to first few leaves, last few leaves strengthened at fore-edges, Mm1 & Mm4 re-hinged and re-margined, with some loss to text. A couple of quarter sized stains touching several gatherings.
FINAL EDITION OF THE GENEVA BIBLE,with Tomson's revised New Testament and Junius' Revelations, this edition appearing to be almost an exact re-print of the edition of 1640, apparently the earliest bible in English to omit the Apocrypha from the list of books. Darlow & Moule 449
