A good quality French silvered and gilt bronze and rouge marble clock garniture

Comprising a mantel clock and pair of seven light candelabra; the clock in the form of a classical maiden reading a book, her elbow resting on a columnar form pedestal, incised A. CARRIER, inset with the circular dial with Roman hours and inscribed LEMERLE-CHARPENTIER & CIE Bronziers, Rue, Charlot 8 Paris, on shaped base and scroll and turned feet, the twin train movement striking on a bell, the backplate stamped LEMERLE CHARPENTIER FANT DE BRONZES PARIS 39 in an oval, with impressed Japy Frères pastille; the companion candelabra of urn form, relief decorated with putti at play and flanked by mask handles suspending swags, issuing the scroll arm supports, raised on circular stepped base and scroll feet.
