Franze Tieze (1842-1932) learnt engraving in Bohemia and settled in Dublin where he was involved with the Pugh glassworks.

George Walker was a prominent Protestant commander who organised the resistance of Londonderry against the Jacobite forces. Walker was killed at the Boyne where he fought alongside King William.
