An early Staffordshire figure of a drummer, circa 1770-75
As an officer in a military band, the standing soldier wearing a green glazed jacket with blue cuffs and frogged waistcoat and a patterned grey cap, the small drum hung at his waist in brown clay edged in white and holding brown clay drumsticks, the domed base and supporting stump at the back glazed in light brown and with rouletted ornament, 17cm high
