Two glass snuff bottles
1750-1880
Including a frosted glass snuff bottle with blue overlay of compressed circular form beneath a short cylindrical neck surmounted by an overhanging mouth rim all supported by a raised ovoid foot encircling a slightly recessed base, the exterior surfaces covered by blue glass incised away to depict insects and sprigs of prunus blossoms (foot polished); and a clear glass snuff bottle with cranberry red overlay of flattened pear form with a flat rim to the waisted neck, conforming cranberry overlays to the front and back face separated by narrower panels on the shoulders carved to simulate bamboo, the cranberry glass also forming an oval foot ring (foot chipped and polished).
