A Swiss red vernis martin striking pendule Neuchateloise and bracket
Les frères Ducommun-dit-Verron, La Chaux de Fonds, third quarter 18th century

The waisted bell top case with gilt door surround and scroll feet on a conforming bracket, white enamel dial with Roman chapters and Arabic minute numerals, pierced gilt scroll hands, brass movement with square plates secured by four pinned cylindrical pillars, verge escapement with thread-suspended pendulum, going barrel, striking the hour and the half-hour on a bell with a vertical hammer (now missing) by means of striking work and countwheel planted on the back plate.
