FIRST EDITION. There were two unauthorized accounts of Anson's voyage published in 1744 with nearly identical text. This edition, however, includes a table for estimating the value of diamonds and more plates, including "a very strange one depicting seals and sea lions on Juan Fernández Island" (Hill p 311). Hill calls for 5 folding plates, but this copy has 4 folding plates plus a frontispiece portrait.
