The original Rothschild Miscellany, now housed in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, was commissioned by Italian Jew Moses ben Yekuthiel Hakohen in 1479 and covers nearly every custom of Jewish religious and secular life of the day. The facsimile is impressive for its detail - from the thickness of the imitation vellum down to the pinholes and worm trails.
