Woodcut portrait of Dante on title, woodcut illustrations and historiated initials throughout, woodcut printer's device. Late 17th/early 18th century calf, gilt floral borders and cornerpieces, raised bands, gilt in panels. Old dampstaining extending from margins throughout, title repaired with 1 1/2 inch strip to foremargin, 17th century marginalia throughout, spine rubbed.

FIRST SANSOVINO EDITION, and the first to include the commentaries of Landino and Vellutello together. The numerous woodcut illustrations are from the 1544 edition of Marcolini.
