c.1974 Yamaha 49cc FS-1E Project
Now elevated to cult status, Yamaha's FS-1E 'Sixteener Special' first appeared in the UK in the autumn of 1972 as a 1973 model. Dropped from the range in 1979, the model was later revived by Yamaha - an almost unprecedented occurrence - with production recommencing in 1987. Originally the FS-1, the model gained a set of bicycle pedals to meet UK moped legislation, becoming the FS-1E. In its pre-August 1977, unrestricted form, the 'Fizzie' produced 4.9bhp and was good for around 45mph flat out. When the model was revived, without pedals but now equipped with Autolube, it was available in restricted form only, though the missing horses were relatively easily restored. This incomplete FS-1E comes with an engine-less Yamaha 80cc YG1 and an incomplete 1971 Yamaha 50cc moped (registration 'KVT 54K'). Only the latter has documents: two old-style Swansea V5s and a V5C. All three machines are offered for restoration and sold strictly as viewed. No reserve
