Registration no. XGR 407
Frame no. C15 17990
Engine no. C15 29446
In September 1958 BSA introduced a new ‘250’ that would provide the basis for an entire range of singles in capacities of up to 500cc. This newcomer, the C15, featured a compact overhead-valve engine and unitary four-speed gearbox. Alternator electrics and coil ignition were features, early models being distinguished by a distributor-type points housing. The engine/gearbox unit was housed in a conventional cradle frame with bolt-on rear sub-frame. Trials and scrambles versions were offered as the range expanded during the 1960s. Offered for restoration and sold strictly as viewed, this incomplete example consists of a frame made in 1960 and an engine dating from 1961. Accompanying paperwork consists of old/current Swansea V5/V5C documents. It should be noted that the registration mark ‘XGR 407’ was issued in 1964 and that the V5 and V5C incorrectly record the frame number as ‘B2-40-4020’, which is a part number. No reserve.
