A development of the 350cc B31, the 500cc B33 was manufactured from 1947 to 1960. The engine closely followed B31 lines but with larger (85mm) bore and heavier flywheels. Cycle parts were identical apart from a larger-section rear tyre. Produced initially with rigid frame and telescopic forks, the B33 was available from 1949 with optional plunger rear suspension and switched to a swinging-arm frame, along with the rest of the range, in 1954. A good all-round performer by the standards of its day, the B33 could top 80mph (129km/h), cruise comfortably all day at 70mph (113km/h) and return in excess of 70 miles per gallon (4 litres/100km). Dating from circa 1956, this tidy example has the Ariel full-width alloy hubs fitted by BSA at that time. There is no registration with this Lot.

Dérivée de la B31 de 350 cm3 , la B33 500 cm3 fut produite de 1947 à 1960. Le moteur ressemblait beaucoup au B31, mais avec un alésage supérieur et des volants plus lourds. La partie cycle était identique excepté le pneu arrière plus gros. Produite initialement avec un cadre rigide et une fourche télescopique, la B33 devint disponible à partir de 1949 avec une suspension arrière à plongeurs optionnelle avant de recevoir un cadre à suspension à bras oscillant, comme le reste de la gamme, en 1954. Bonne moto polyvalente, performante selon les critères de l'époque, la B33 pouvait atteindre 130 km/h, croiser confortablement à 110 et consommer 4 litres aux 100 km. Datant de 1956 environ, cet exemplaire soigné est muni des tambours larges en alliage léger d'Ariel que montait BSA à l'époque. Cette moto n'est pas immatriculée.
