1967 Triumph 649cc T120 Bonneville
Registration no. 998 NE 61
Frame no. DU54500
Engine no. DU54500
Unitary construction of the engine/gearbox had been a feature of Triumph's 350 and 500 twins since 1957 and that innovation duly appeared on the 650s in 1963. The café racers' favourite since its introduction, thanks to lusty acceleration and a top speed approaching 120mph, the Bonneville continued in this new form as Triumph's top-of-the-range sports roadster. This particular T120 Bonneville dates from 1967, by which time the handling problems associated with earlier versions had been sorted and 12-volt electrics standardised. The machine was restored by Atelier Motorne of Chailloue circa 2001 and modified in 'café racer' style complete with an alloy fuel tank, clip-on handlebars, rear-set footrests, racing seat, megaphone silencers, short front mudguard, etc (see invoice on file). Removed parts offered with it include the tank, front mudguard, handlebar, seat and a silencer. The machine is offered with French Carte Grise normale and various documents relating to its purchase in 2001.
