c.1936 Terrot 250cc Type OSSG
Registration no. 9518 SM 61
Frame no. 212993
Engine no. 118863
Terrot's OSS series of 250cc overhead-valve sports models was first introduced for 1930 as the OSSE. Unfortunately, its arrival coincided with the infamous 'Wall Street Crash', which triggered a worldwide economic downturn and corresponding reduction in demand for such well-specified lightweights. Nevertheless, the model and its derivatives would remain a fixture of the range until 1940. Notable developments along the way included shorter-stroke engine dimensions for 1934; a four-speed gearbox for 1936; and a redesigned rocker box for 1938 on the revamped OSSP. Later versions weighed 113kg (249lb) and had a top speed of 105km/h (65mph). A beautiful older restoration, this OSSG features an ED combined speedometer/clock set into the tank top. It should be noted that the filler cap is loose and requires attention, and that there is no battery fitted. The machine is offered with purchase receipt (1996), French Carte Grise normale and copy old CG.
