The well carved and painted gesso head with rouged cheeks and inserted black pupil-less eyes, with fine dotted lashes and brows over a single line, nailed on short brown wig with bun and blue silk ribbon, carved ears and slender neck to torso tapering at waist, having square hips and legs jointed at hips and knees, cloth upper arms with wooden forearms and long fork fingers, wearing a silk gown with leading strings to back, in richly coloured panels of pink, green, gold and brown with fitted bodice, lace stomacher, fontage and pink ribbon rosettes, lined in pink silk, and having her pink corset, cream satin quilted under-skirt with secret pocket containing hanker-chief with embroidered initial 'a' in red, petticoat with fringing, and cotton skirt, wearing cream silk stockings and pink slippers with brocade and red soles, holding her pink silk masque, (small repair to paint under chin), This doll is illustrated in 'The Collector's book of Dolls Clothes' by Dorothy S, Elizabeth A and Evelyne Coleman, page 187, 46cm (18in) tall.
