The cylindrical body rising from a carved three-legged foot, the base with an undetached recessed enclosure, revealing a flattened cylindrical knop fastened at the centre of the interior, all plain and undecorated revealing the natural wood grain.

It is rare to find a zitan brushpot of such large size, all carved from a single trunk, due to the sheer cost of the material. The current lot is remarkable for its deep-purple wavy textures, and the fact that the base of the brushpot has never been detached.

清素面紫檀筆筒

筆筒圓形直尊式，厚壁，口沿呈泥鰍背，玉璧形底有三小足。陳年紫檀木色澤黝黑，木紋清晰，皮殼瑩潤，包漿見古，周身佈牛毛紋，精光內蘊。此筆筒整器造型端莊，樸素古雅。

紫檀木料來源較少，稀缺珍貴，此筆筒木料上乘，紫檀色澤深沉，紋路清晰，器形比常見紫檀製筆筒較大，較為難得。
