The cylindrical body rising from a carved three-legged foot, the base with an undetached recessed enclosure, revealing a flattened cylindrical knop fastened at the centre of the interior, all plain and undecorated revealing the natural wood grain.

    It is rare to find a zitan brushpot of such large size, all carved from a single trunk, due to the sheer cost of the material. The current lot is remarkable for its deep-purple wavy textures, and the fact that the base of the brushpot has never been detached.

    清 素面紫檀筆筒

    筆筒圓形直尊式,厚壁,口沿呈泥鰍背,玉璧形底有三小足。陳年紫檀木色澤黝黑,木紋清晰,皮殼瑩潤,包漿見古,周身佈牛毛紋,精光內蘊。此筆筒整器造型端莊,樸素古雅。

    紫檀木料來源較少,稀缺珍貴,此筆筒木料上乘,紫檀色澤深沉,紋路清晰,器形比常見紫檀製筆筒較大,較為難得。
