A pale green jade archaistic libation vessel
Ming dynasty
Of archaistic form, the pouring vessel finely worked on the exterior with a scene of two chi dragons with outstretched bodies and bifurcated tails, encircling wispy clouds with three pointed knops forming feet, bordered at the moutrim with a band of keyfret scrolls, one end curved forming a spout and the other framed with a C-shaped handle in the form of a head of a mythical beast with its jaws tightly clenched at the rim.

    明 青玉雕螭龍單耳匜

    青玉玉質,局部黃褐色皮殼。匜長口,口沿略外撇,外壁邊沿雕迴紋一周,匜把鏤雕一變形仿古螭龍,腹部及底部淺浮雕兩螭龍遨遊祥雲之中,其中三多祥雲雕成三乳釘小足。整器雕刻細緻,風格簡樸生動,為明代文房器具中佳器。

    瓷器來源於十九世紀美國眾議院紐約議員Waldo Hutchins (1822 - 1891年),後為紐約收藏家 Ralph M. Chait收購。
