A large Longquan celadon 'peony' barbed charger
Early Ming dynasty
The sturdily potted dish rising from a thick foot, flared at the sides and rising to a barbed rim, finely moulded with a floral design featuring a central medallion of peony blossoms amongst leafy sprays within bordered rims, the sides lightly impressed with meandering floral scrolls, the exterior framed by a pronounced ribbed motif, all covered with an olive-green and thick translucent glaze.
