The sturdily potted dish rising from a thick foot, flared at the sides and rising to a barbed rim, finely moulded with a floral design featuring a central medallion of peony blossoms amongst leafy sprays within bordered rims, the sides lightly impressed with meandering floral scrolls, the exterior framed by a pronounced ribbed motif, all covered with an olive-green and thick translucent glaze.

明早期龍泉窯青釉刻花菱口折沿大盤

釉色光滑，呈青綠色。盤呈花口折沿，敝口，口沿平出，弧形壁，圓圈足。外壁作凹凸直條摺稜，內壁刻纏枝花卉紋，線條輕快，刀法靈活。內底寬平，以雙線勾勒出圓形開光，中央刻劃出一枝牡丹花，其葉子肥大茂密，覆蓋整個內底平面，典雅華美。

與本盤之形製及內壁紋飾相似的國立台北故宮博物院例子，可見蔡玫芬編，《碧綠－明代龍泉窯青瓷》，台北，2009，頁74-75，編號30。該例子內底中心採用印花，平積較本盤為小，只有33.5厘米寬。傳世品中青釉花口折沿大盤之例，可參考香港佳士得，2012年5月30日，拍品編號4241。
