  • Provenance 來源:
    An old Florida collection

The quality of the stone and the workmanship on the plaque is outstanding, pointing to it being an Imperial commission, one of a group of Imperial white jade ornaments decorated with twelve Chinese zodiac figures in anthropomorphic forms and their associated Earthly branches represented by archaic Chinese characters. For another white jade rectangular pendent, that appears to be from the same set, worked with a figure of a rabbit and an archaic character mao, see Christie's London, 15 May 2012, lot 75.
