The flattened ovoid vase worked in silver wire and colored enamels with two pale yellow panels of butterflies and chrysanthemum and wood anenome, the surrounding areas with blossoms and scrolling vine against a brown ground, the neck and foot with bands of formal lappets and scroll, the cover with stylized phoenixes, fitted with a gilt chrysanthemum finial, signed on a silver tablet Kyoto Namikawa
