The large scabbard assembled and boldly carved in high and sunken relief with Buddhist deities including Monju on a caparisoned elephant; Seiobo and attendants; Kannon and Seishi; and various disciples of the Buddha with their attributes, the surrounding areas carved with scrolling vines, lotus and peonies, the large tsuba carved with swirling dragons in clouds, signed Kane Hakumin, hangers carved with clouds; the blade a ko-dachi, the tang o-suriage with two holes and cut signature Sukesada []
