A gilt, lacquer and polychrome panel with a goddess
Tibet, circa 12th Century
The goddess is from the set of Pancharaksha deities. With a single head and ten arms, her right primary hand in vitarka mudra, in the surrounding she holds the sword, staff, vajra, bow, ghanta, padma lasso and trisula, framed by scrolling foliate forms in deep relief.
