Footnotes

  • Ferrary is known for his studies of animal tamers and tigers. He received numerous prizes throughout his career, including Grand Prize of Rome in 1882, third prize at the French Salon de Artistes in 1879 and second prize in 1889. He was also decorated with Legion of Honor in 1891. In 1897 Ferrary exhibited a sculpture titled Belluaire at The Spring Exhibition at the Leeds City Art Gallery.
