A pair of large Canton enameled metal deep dishes with cranes and chrysanthemums decoration
Qianlong period
Each displaying a wide, curving well centered with a floriform reserve framing two cranes resting on a garden rock surrounded by chrysanthemums, all painted in pale famille rose enamels while flowering and fruiting branches in ogival reserves alternate with circular reserves in black and white in a band of bright blue strewn with colorful flower heads and leaf scrolls; the white enamel on the reverse surrounding further floral sprays to the walls and a dragon roundel in rich blue bordered by a yellow band filling the recessed base within the tall foot ring.
