Each of ovoid shape and elaborately decorated in multicolored enamels with battling samurai warriors on a deep turquoise ground above a scrolling decorative band around the foot, the shoulders with the porcelain body molded into shallow folds and with a gilt bird-and-flower pattern suggesting a silk cloth cover secured at the neck by a thick tasseled cord; each base signed in gold enamel Dai Nihon Aichi kojin Takeuchi Tadaemon (losses to enamel).
