The lenticular body decorated to either side with various types of birds in flight, the design executed in gold, silver and iro-e hiramakie and takamakie on a kinji ground, nashiji interiors, signed Shokasai above a kakihan; together with a mottled lacquered ojime bead and a stag antler manju netsuke carved and pierced with a flying goose silhouetted by a full moon encircled by flowering sprigs.
