A blue and white porcelain baluster vase
Thickly formed with a flared rim to the short neck, a continuous landscape setting for scholars waiting for arriving boats fills the walls of the elongated ovoid body with a spreading foot and shallow, recessed base (stained hairline crack); together with a Transitional period blue and white porcelain deep dish painted with a fisherman seated on a rock beneath a large tree surrounded by a ring of ribboned auspicious symbols, the unglazed flat base impressed with a fabric design (glaze worn); and an 18th century blue and white porcelain double gourd vase painted with bamboo branches around the upper lobe and a landscape with fisherman extends round the lower lobe, (abrasion, rim and neck now covered with a white brass mount).
