Lychee and Rat
Hand scroll, ink and color on silk; bearing an inscription reading Xuande san nian wushen Wuyingdian yu zhi ci taijian Guo Bi (third year of the Xuande reign, or 1428, painted by royal decree at the Wuying Palace and gifted to the eunuch Guo Bi), inscribed over a seal reading Wuyingdian bao, followed by a colophon dated Qianlong renwu dongyue (a winter month in 1762) and bearing the signature Shen Deqian with two seals reading Shen Deqian yin and Queshi and one collector's seal (abrasions, creases, stains).
