A group of four jade bi with raised relief decoration
The first carved in high relief with chilong grasping in its jaws a lingzhi fungus branch to a mottled black and brown layer reversed by an off-white layer carved in shallow relief with four groups of C-scrolls; the second similarly carved with a dragon and lingzhi fungus reversed by a field of raised circular bosses, the dark gray-green matrix marked with extensive brown and black veins (chipped); the third carved in high relief with a lion and cub playing with a ribbon-tied ball in a mottled pale russet stratum of the otherwise pale greenish-white matrix finished on the reverse with an incised ribbon interlace pattern (tiny chip); the fourth of medium gray-green hue to one side displaying two summarily carved chilong, the naturally uneven surface of the reverse displaying richly colored russet staining.
