the vertically mounted egg on a domed ovolo base chased with leaves rising to a tree trunk issuing fern leaves, applied with shield engraved 'Present to T.H. Chandler Esq, by the employees of the Newcaslte Steam Ship/Co. Lime St Sydney, April 3rd 1882', engraved girdle and an emu amongst ferns finial, marked 'EVAN JONES/SYDNEY' 28cm(11") high
