the engraving in the manner of Jan Bellekin (Amsterdam, fl. 1600 - 1625)
the rectangular top having a raised waisted compartment fitted with a sliding cover, the exterior decorated with incised allegorical figures emblematic of Prudence or Truth, Strength or Architecture, Charity and Faith, all within reserves of swagged arcades, and with borders and spandrels of scrolling frond-like foliage, the doors enclosing an interior fitted with a deep central drawer, flanked to either side by two short drawers, a long drawer above and below, the drawer fronts and the interior of each door inlaid with mother of pearl plaques depicting hunting scenes, hares and dogs, heraldic beasts including a camel, a bear, a stag and a lion, and allegorical figures of Faith and Architecture or Strength, the central drawer with a female figure holding a harp and allegorical of Music, all within ebony-veneered and gilt-heightened borders carved with scrolls and arabesques, raised on four turned bun feet, 22cm wide, 15.5cm deep, 24cm high (8.5" wide, 6" deep, 9" high)

25% on the first £50,000 of the Hammer Price
20% from £50,001 to £1,000,000 the Hammer Price
12% from £1,000,001 of the Hammer Price

VAT at 20% will be payable on the amount of the premium.

The premium is payable for the services to be provided by Bonhams in the Buyer's Agreement which is contained in the catalog for this Sale and for the opportunity to bid for the Lot at the Sale.

Payment Notices

Payment in advance: by cash, check with banker's card, credit card, bank draft or traveler's cheque.

Payment at collection: by credit or debit card.
