The mouths of both the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers can be seen, as can nearly all the country of Kuwait, in this image taken by a member of the crew with a hand-held camera. STS-27 deployed a classified surveillance satellite, Lacrosse 1, which was used during the first Gulf War.
