Of archaistic form, the exquisitely worked body of square form, supported on a hollowed splayed foot, worked in high relief on on all four vertical sides with an archaistic taotie mask issuing forth a ring handle, two with stylised gaping jaws, and two with jaws closed, the mask resembling a butterfly, all above a band of lappets at the foot, the cover of domed sectionrising to a trumpet-shaped knop, finely worked with classic scrolls and upward and downward lotus lappets, the white stone with attractive russet patches.
