    During the attack on Libuny on the night of 7th June '44, this soldier was acting as orderly on an ambulance jeep he went forward repeatedly in this vehicle to collect casualties through the village of Bieville which was being subjected to heavy mortar and shell fire and back, causing casualties. The village of Bieville was, at the same time, infected by snipers who hit the vehicle several times. His actions were responsible for saving many casualties who might not have otherwise been recovered.

    Private Cecil Herbert Moyse was from Norwich, Norfolk. The lot comes with a newspaper cutting and three leters of congratulation on his award, all dated July 1944.

    A total of 267 MMs were awarded during WW2 with 3 bars.
