    The lot comes with a silver vesta case, a silver cigarette box, signet ring with imprint of seal.

    Major Laurence L'Estrange was born on the 19th December 1896, during WW1 he served with the Sherwood Foresters and later joined the South Staffordshire Regiment. Between 1945 and 1949 he was Permanent President of Courts Martial in Western Command. He urged the Governent to establish court martial appeal courts throughout the services, which it did in 1950. He was former secretary of Moseley Golf Club, a Past Master of Weatheroak Masonic Lodge, and a member of Fort Royal Lodge, Worcester. He died on the 17th June 1968. He lived at 2 Merton Road, Moseley, Birmingham.
