Captain Francis Murray Halley was educated at the University of Edinburgh, where he graduated M.B., Ch.B. in 1915. Lieutenant, Royal Army Medical Corps July 1915. Captain January 1916, served with the 2nd Scottish Horse Field Ambulance, Salonika. Served Mesopotamia January to December 1918. He also took the D.T.M. & H. of the London Colleges in 1925. He served for some years in the Iraqi Health Service, and afterwards in the Malayan Medical Service under the Agricultural Board. He died on the 10th June 1940 after a short illness in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
