  • Surgeon Commander Stewart Russell Johnston was educated at University College Hospital, and took the MRCS and LRCP Lond in 1916. He joined the Royal Navy immediately afterwards. He became Surgeon Lieutenant Commander on the 24th October 1922, and Surgeon Commander on 24th October 1928. He was a holder of the Sir Gilbert Blane Medal. He died on the 13th December 1934.
