Sold with the following statement taken from Owens Medal Rolls "In connection with the medals to Nurse M.S.Clarke, this is the only Rhodesian medal issued to a Nursing Sister and the medal is engraved 'Nurse Clarke' in inverted commas. We would not have known what her initials were had I not got the Boer War Queen South Africa medal named to Nursing Sister M.S.Clarke. Both medals came from the family. This pair of medals is in the Owen collection and is one of the rarest pair of medals ever issued in the Rhodesian 1896 war".

    Sold with minor research.
