An Egyptian R.R.C. group of three to Nursing Sister H.King,
Royal Red Cross, V.R. in gold and enamel; Egypt 1882-89, dated reverse, one bar, The Nile 1884-85 (Nursg Sister.H.King.); Khedive's Star, dated 1882. With a Mary Adelaide Nursing medal in bronze, engraved on reverse (Henrietta King 1897). Contained in a contemporary purpose built glazed case for display. Extremely fine. (4)

    Nursing Sister Henrietta King was born on the 27th October 1853, she served aboard the Hospital Ship Carthage which sailed for Egypt on the 9th September 1882. She returned to the UK in April 1883. She was absorbed into the MNE on the 1st July 1883 at Netley and embarked for Egypt again on the 26th March 1884, serving at Suez, Cairo and Assuan. She was at Ramleh in 1887 and resigned the service on the 30th September 1894.
