The Most Honourable Order of the Bath, C.B. breast badge in gold and enamel; Crimea 1854-56, four bars, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol, engraved (Staff Surgeon, A.Anderson, (M.D) 1st Class.); Second China War 1857-60, one bar, Canton 1857, officially impressed (Dy Inspr Genl of Hospls A.Anderson.); France, Legion of Honour, Knights breast badge, in gold, silver and enamel; Turkish Crimea, British issue; Some enamel damage to the Legion of Honour, otherwise very fine.     Inspector General Arthur Anderson was born on the 19th July 1814, M.A. Maris College Aberdeen 1832, M.D. Edinburgh 1834; Assistant Surgeon Staff 16th October 1835; 82nd Foot 4th March 1836; 10th Dragoons 5th March 1841; Surgeon, Rifle Brigade, 16th December 1945; Staff, 1st Class, afterwards Surgeon Major Staff, 28th March 1854; Deputy Inspector General 31st December 1858; Inspector General 28 Jan 1862. Retired on Half Pay 4th September 1867. He died at Pitlochry on the 26th April 1896.
